Everton Women & Everton Football College: A Powerful New Chapter for Goodison Park
Everton Football Club today revealed another exciting step in its bold vision for the future of Goodison Park.
From September Everton’s multi-academy education trust, The People’s Learning Trust, will relocate its flagship Everton Football College to Goodison Park, giving students the opportunity to study inside a stadium that has inspired generations of football fans and players.
Following the announcement that Everton Women will make Goodison Park their new permanent home, the relocation of Everton Football College further underlines the Club’s intent for Goodison to remain an active, vibrant, and valuable asset for the community.
This move will make Goodison one of the only globally recognised football stadiums to house both a top-tier professional football team and a dedicated educational trust. The move will create a powerful and symbolic centre for aspiration, opportunity and transformation in North Liverpool.
The announcement aligns closely with Everton’s long-term North Liverpool regeneration strategy and reflects the values of the Club. Colin Chong, Everton’s Chief Real Estate and Regeneration Officer and former CEO, has been appointed to The People’s Learning Trust Board of Trustees.
He said: “Goodison Park has always stood for more than just football — it’s a symbol of pride, purpose, and identity for many people in this part of Liverpool.
"By welcoming The People’s Learning Trust to this historic ground, we are not only preserving its legacy but reimagining its future as a place of opportunity, education, and inspiration. This is a vital part of our wider regeneration vision and a powerful example of how football can help positively transform communities.”
Steven Baker, CEO of The People’s Learning Trust, said: “This incredible opportunity from the Club ensures that Goodison Park will continue to inspire our young people. In the spirit of our motto, Nothing But The Best is Good Enough – Nil Satis Nisi Optimum – this is a legacy we are proud to carry forward.”
A Trust Changing Lives Through Football
The People’s Learning Trust is a not-for-profit multi-academy trust that oversees a growing family of schools, including the acclaimed Everton Free School and Everton Football College. Its model puts football at the heart of learning — supporting the academic, personal, and professional development of students, many of whom face barriers to traditional education.
Recent footballing achievements are a testament to the Trust’s ethos of excellence:
The Under-19 Girls team were crowned NFYL Northern Premier League champions.
The Under-19 Boys team secured a third-place finish in their league.
The College’s Vauxhall-based team lifted the EFL League title, and this week won the Everton Shield Cup Final.
These achievements speak not only to footballing talent but to the determination, discipline, and ambition nurtured by the Trust’s approach to education — both on and off the pitch.
A Fitting Legacy for Goodison Park
Goodison Park will become the first football stadium to be home to both a top-tier women’s team and a multi-academy education trust.
As Hill Dickinson Stadium becomes part of Everton’s future, the heartbeat of Goodison Park will live on — through the voices and minds of students, the passion of Everton Women players and supporters’, and the impact of football and learning in the heart of the community.
