Student Experience: Develop, Challenge, and Succeed

At Everton Football College, we believe in a holistic approach to education and coaching. Our goal is to help every student be the best they can be, equipping them with the skills, qualities, and awareness needed to achieve their ambitions and become valuable citizens ready to thrive in life and embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Enrichment Beyond the Classroom

Our enrichment programme is a key part of the student experience. Designed to stretch and challenge, it provides opportunities for students to develop skills outside the classroom, enhancing personal growth, learning, and thinking abilities while building expertise in areas of interest. While football remains a central focus, our enrichment offer is diverse, ambitious, and outstanding, as recognised by Ofsted in 2018.

Examples of enrichment opportunities include:

Volunteering: Work with Everton in the Community and other local or international providers to make a meaningful difference.

Work Experience: Gain practical experience locally or abroad in countries such as China, Spain, Aruba, the USA, and South Africa.

Leadership Opportunities: Stand for the Liverpool Student Council and develop leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.

Career and Study Support: Access study skills sessions, careers guidance, UCAS workshops, and scholarship advice.

Guest Speakers: Learn from experts in sport, business, health, and wellbeing.

Pastoral Support: Receive personalised guidance from your assigned tutor.

Fitness and Wellbeing: Use our fitness gym, participate in challenges, and maintain physical development.

Academic Development: Join academic study sessions, coaching courses, awards, and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Practical, Life-Changing Experience

As a member of Everton Football College, students have the opportunity to apply their skills in real-world settings through work-related learning. Placements may include coaching, community projects, or other practical experiences both locally and internationally, helping students gain confidence, build employability skills, and prepare for their next steps.

At Everton Football College, the student experience is more than education it's a journey of personal growth, sporting excellence, and life skills development, designed to prepare every student for success on the pitch and beyond.

Work experience (trips and visits)

We pride ourselves on providing a Nil Satis Nisi Optimum approach to work experience for all our students. It is embedded into all our qualifications. Work experience provides students with the valuable life and personal development skills and qualities they need to prepare themselves for their next steps. We are extremely fortunate to work with local schools and organisations including Everton to enable our students to deliver sport sessions, camps and festivals throughout the year, enabling them to put learning from the classroom into practice.

We have been fortunate to take our students on valuable placements abroad, coaching in Valencia and Aruba. Most recently we have just returned from Chile and next year we have plans to visit South Africa. These are life changing opportunities for our students. Our inclusive approach allows all students to access work experience home or abroad throughout the academic year.

In addition to work experience, we access a range of football playing opportunities throughout the year. We attend the World School Games in Spain each October (we are currently the WSG Winners 2022).

Each July our students have the opportunity to attend the New York Cup. This is a chance for our students to complete the academic year showcasing their skills alongside other college and academy teams with the chance to visit one of the greatest cities in the world.

At Everton Football College we are privileged to take part in the very prestigious Dallas Cup. The Dallas Cup began in 1980 and is an annual event held during Easter Week. To ensure the highest level of competition each year, the Dallas Cup is an invitation only tournament.

In 2023, Everton Football College took over 100 students (both male and female) to participate in this tournament. Over 900 international players participate in the tournament each year. On average, the Dallas Cup entertains over 105,000 spectators during the tournament week and is the perfect spectacle for our students wanting to gain a US Scholarship.
